Description
The generated XML is quite hard to parse for humans.

This ticket has made some changes to the trunk which already have been released as 3.3.1. If there are no objections I will close this ticket in the next three days.
Further work to improve the XML output should go into a new ticket in either a branch or the current trunk version (if you work in the trunk you should target a 3.3.3 release).
