A number of possibly interesting instances have been published by ​Z. Drezner.

Also ​E. Taillard has published additional instances on his website.

Additionally, instances from ​microarray placement have surfaced.

I added some new instances and improved the computation of the average (expected) quality for qap instances. I used the formula found in Chicano et al. Autocorrelation measures for the quadratic assignment problem. 2012.
