Description
A general arithmetic operator could be built allowing one to combine different variables and constants with mathematical operations and functions. The result of this could be again injected into the scope.

I think this has already been implemented in the form of the ExpressionCalculator (see #1247). Also swagner has a bachelor thesis which will hopefully provide a more sophisticated implementation of such an operator.
